About GCK
|
In June 2012, Kate and Morgan met in Berlin and had an instant deep bonding chat about their experiences growing up hapas (part Asian, 100% hapa) in the US and living as foreigners in EU. Kate shared her dream of creating a digital playground and home for other Global Culture Kids (a term she coined and prefers as more inclusive than third culture kids or hapa). In the echo of Morgan's enthusiasm, she bought the domain name.
In August 2012, Kate wrote a blog post about the Global Culture Kids vision. In January 2013, Kate with fellow GCK Reika and Clarissa launched this site along with a microsite that features the first GCK project: The Hapa-Hafu Kitchen Project. We're cooking up more fun-- not just in the kitchen. Stay tuned & join us to build this awesome GCK home! |
